For my first band we chose the nonsensical phrase "grab it - phone ya" as a name which didn't really mean anything except along side our 'hand-grabbing-a-phone' logo which I designed. We practised in a manure scented stable with dodgy equipment, mostly playing punk covers by bands like Nofx and Bad Religion. When we eventually did write our own songs I came up with the lyrics and the basic song structures which we refined together as a band. We played a few haphazard gigs in Belfast and even won a local Battle of the Bands but split up shortly after making our first Ep. Fun times...!
